My Personal Connection to the Presidential Candidates

Cris Dodd and family. Source: chrisdodd.com.I watched Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd and his wife being interviewed about their moving to Iowa with two young daughters in order for him to campaign effectively in the first state’s nominating process for presidential candidates. He uprooted his family in order to secure a couple percent of the democratic vote in that state! Nationally, polls show Dodd has 1% of the democratic vote. For this, his six-year old changed schools?

This is actually Dodd’s second wife. His first wife – Susan Mooney – to whom he was married for a dozen years, is (of course) not mentioned in his official biography. Susan’s younger sister lived with my ex-wife in Boston when my former wife was attending business school. I met Susan briefly – an intense, slender, waspy blonde dedicated to her husband’s career – just like his current wife! No wonder I can’t run for president!

[Added January 4, 2008] Dodd dropped out of the presidential race after the Iowa caucuses. I hope he can get his kids back to school in Connecticut in time for the spring semester.
